Before I Leave Hospital
A hospital staff member who is a clinician researcher, will check your eligibility for the ReCAPS trial. If you are willing to volunteer for the ReCAPS trial, they will:
- explain the trial fully to you
- provide answers to your questions
- ask you to sign a consent form once you feel you have enough information to help you decide you would like to take part in ReCAPS.
Once you have signed the consent form, you will then officially become a participant in the study.
Before you leave hospital, you will be asked some questions about your medical history. As part of this baseline assessment, you will also be asked to complete several questionnaires about your health and wellbeing. You will be helped to identify between two and five personal goals you would like to work towards achieving over 12 weeks. These may be around recovery from stroke, or preventing another one.
